Ten years ago I swore I would never go for cosmetic surgery. I viewed this fight against nature pointless and quite superficial -surely there was much more in me than my looks! However, after experiencing massive changes in my body after giving birth to two children changed my view about this. My tummy looked like a jelly roll and the “horse riding pants effect” was sadly evident in my upper thighs.
I wanted to have my beautiful body back and the countless hours at the gym (even with a personal trainer!) did not bring the results I was looking for. I was unhappy about the way I looked although my husband kept on telling me I look great. I read about liposuction and after a lot of thought I booked a consultation with a plastic surgeon. I had heard so many horror stories about unsuccessful operations so I made sure I researched well all the surgeons available even outside of of my province.
I found a brilliant surgeon, he was very competent answering all my questions. We booked a date for the surgery and he also took some pictures of the “problem areas”. After the liposuction I did not really feel much pain -I only took ibuprofen for about a week for slight discomfort. I had some swelling and bruising in my thighs for a week or so but I was told this is normal after liposuction and there’s nothing to worry about.
I allowed myself to take generous time off after the surgery so I went back to work three weeks postop although I’m sure I would have been able to do this even after two weeks. It’s now been six months since my Plastic Surgery in South Africa and the results are great! I feel fantastic and definitely don’t regret spending that money!
